Total Solar Eclipse 2010 in Whole America
Posted on 12. Jul, 2010 by Chris Inkwood in Headlines, Science
A total solar eclipse is about to happen today, July 11, 2010. People will be witnessing two remarkable events today. The first one is the World Cup 2010 Finals featuring the Netherlands vs Spain live at the South Africa at exactly 2:30 pm ET and the other one is the total solar eclipse which is set to happen in the Earth today.
Apparently, the eclipse will begin at 2:15 PM ET in North of New Zealand near the Cook Islands, continue past Easter Island and ending in Chile at the southernmost tip of South America at 4:52 p.m. ET. Furthermore, the eclipse will last the longest for 5 minutes 20 seconds over open Pacific waters at 3:33 p.m. ET on Sunday July 11.
This will be one of the best chances for those around the world to witness the total solar eclipse. Some parts of the America were not able to view the partial lunar eclipse so you better grab this opportunity now to make up somewhat for this rare event on Earth.
Please stay tuned here for the possible video live coverage of the Total Solar Eclipse 2010.
UPDATE: The Total Eclipse already ended and was witnessed by thousands who went to Easter Island in Chile. Read the DTT report here written by Nicholas Sommerset

Is there Solar eclips in Canada also,if yes then what time according to MT.Please let me know.
hello, your article has one major mistake : the image you show is NOT a TOTAL solar eclipse but only an ANNULAR solar eclipse. In the annular eclipse the Moon does not cover all the Sun. Today however it is a TOTAL eclipse. Feel free to use my image of the 2006 total eclipse here :

am I supposed to read this stuff? you’re english sucks with all the grammatical errors and illogical scenarios presented..
This article makes no sense. How is the eclipse anywhere close to the US? It’s in the southern Pacific Ocean. Are you including US territories? If so, include them in your article. And why does it mention a lunar eclipse? The last lunar eclipse was last December (visible from Africa, Europe, and Asia) and there won’t be another one visible (in the US) until next December.
what time of solar eclipse in dubai UAE.
In Answer to the above comments in order:-
Noshila there is no eclipse In Canada, although the Sun is up (as it is here in the Uk). Because of Parallax the moon will pass south of the sun.
Klipsi, you image you see is a total eclipse. The outer brightness is the corona.
I just wanted to correct the misinformation… this eclipse is NOT visible all over the world as you imply.
Your times are off the longest in the middle of the ocean is at 2:33 est not 3:33 and the eclipse ends at 4:50 by the west side of the southern most part of Chile.
this massive event that we are so lucky to see signifies all religions mark of the start of the end of days in all languages and beliefs given the symbolism of the lunar eclipse just mere weeks ago if you have been unaware of this then you may be unaware of the fact that the son of god is set to return to the earth to correct our mistakes i am looking actively for him have you seen him
@steele: the article does not mention the US anywhere. Title mentions ‘America’ which consists of North- and South- America.
You guys, I think the author is talking about the MOVIE Eclipse. See, now it makes sense, right?
It’s incredible how someone with poor grammar skills was the one critizing the original poster. So rude…. or maybe it’s becuase of the eclipse?
And what about the other one jumping in before checking his/her geography book? America is not the US? Oh.. that’s another funny issue I see so often!
