Yellow Lobster Found in Rhode Island

Posted on 01. Aug, 2010 by in Headlines, World

Rhode Island – A rare yellow lobster was captured near Rhode Island in Narragansett Bay yesterday July 31, 2010. This rare creature was caught by Denny Ingram a local fisherman. He said that he found the lobster in one of his crate being used for catching fish and lobsters. The strange creature is somewhat golden brown with strikes of black in both sides of its abdomen.

This yellow lobster is part of the species of American Lobster and as the researchers said that finding this rare creature is an odd of 1 in 30 million. The last known/recorded appearance of this is last August 1, 2006 at Whaleback Island.

This is just another genetic defect that could be caused by certain pollutions. As this is not a normal circumstance as confirmed by our specialist but rather a mutation.

We will keep you posted on the latest news on this as it happens.
