Perseid Meteor Shower August 2010 Tonight – People might wonder during the month of August, when they are on vacation in the country where skies are dark, the well-known meteor shower, known as the Perseid meteor shower, showcase in the sky.

The Perseid meteor shower is set to light up the night sky at GTA and even far beyond. On August 13,  the meteor shower will reach its peak as early in the morning. The annual event may just showcase a celestial offer to make up for what many hoped the northern lights would provide.

So if you happen to see the skies are clear on the night, the chances of a spectacular display of the Perseid meteor shower are very quite high. It was reported that Astronomers estimate that 60 or more meteors could be visible each hour following sunset on the 12th of August.

For those who want to know, the Perseid meteor shower is the result of the comet Swift-Tuttle, which passes relatively close to Earth every 133-135 years. In fact, there’s some speculation that the comet could ultimately strike our planet in the distant future (we’re talking the year 4479 here…).

Now prepare yourself now because the best time to watch the meteor shower will be from the late-night hours of Wednesday, August 11 on through the predawn hours of August 13. Prepare your telescope now for a better viewing above the sky.

Updates: Some reports says that the Perseid Meteor Shower 2010 will still remain in the sky and will keep on glowing til the rest of August. So grabe this chance now to witness how the meteor shower scattered above the sky.
