Ashley and Cheryl Cole Granted Divorce – After four years of marriage, Ashley and Cheryl Cole were granted a divorce at the High Court. District Judge Christopher Simmonds granted the decree nisi on the grounds of Ashley Cole’s admitted unreasonable behavior.
The couple separated in February after allegations were made in the press about the England and Chelsea defender’s infidelity. In 2004, the pair met while living in the same London apartment block. After a year, Ashley proposed in Dubai and the couple got engaged.
In July 2006, the couple got married in a lavish ceremony in Hertfordshire. Two years after, their marriage was rocked by a tabloid speculation about Ashley Cole’s infidelity. Since then, their troubled marriage became the focus of much media attention and Cheryl Cole was photographed in a number of occasions not wearing her wedding ring.
Ashley Cole is an English footballer who plays for Chelsea and the England national team. He plays a left-back and has been named as one of the best in the world. Cheryl Cole (Cheryl Tweedy) is an English singer, songwriter, actress, dancer, model and television personality. She became a judge on the British reality television show “The X Factor”. She has been called as “the nation’s new sweetheart.
The decree nisi, which was granted to the couple, is a preliminary divorce order which could be finalized within weeks if neither side objects.
Ashley Cole is expected to play for England in Friday night’s Euro 2012 qualifying match against Bulgaria.
