Toshiba Recall for 41000 Affected Models of Laptop Computers

Toshiba Recall for 41000 Affected Models of Laptop Computers - The Toshiba has recently released a recall of their 41,000 Satellite laptop computers because of a potential overheating problem that could even burn the case of the computers. According to some resources, there have been 100 reports already of melting and minor case problems that already occurred in some areas.

And for those models that are affected by the Toshiba Recall:

Apparently, the US Product Safety Commission  said: “The notebook computers can overheat at the notebook’s plug-in to the AC adapter, posing a burn hazard to consumers.”

As far as laptop is concerned, there had been similar case of recall to laptop overheating problems that already released for this year. In July 2010, Sony issued a recall of more than 500,000 laptops and in May 2010, HP also followed the recall of their 100,000 laptop batteries.

Mike Lucas, senior vice president of Vaio for Sony, said in a statement “In rare instances, these notebook computers may overheat due to a potential malfunction of the internal temperature management system, resulting in deformation of the product’s keyboard or external casing, and a potential burn hazard to consumers.”

Toshiba has been in the business of manufacturing laptop for quite long time and over these years, this is the first time that they has been forced to recall some of their machines for various reason.
