Novak Djokovic reached the US Open 2010’s fourth round for the four consecutive years, thus eliminating the American wild card James Blake in a straight set of games. The 3rd seeded Djokovic beat Blake 6-1, 7-6 (4), 6-3 in a wind-whipped Arthur Ashe Stadium on Saturday night. Serbia’s Djokovic made only 13 unforced errors — 18 fewer than Blake.

The fourth round for Djokovic will be quite challengeing match because he will be facing another American, and he is the 19th seeded Mardy Fish who edged Arnaud Clement of France 4-6, 6-3, 6-4, 1-6, 6-3 this Saturday.

Meanwhile, the defending champion Kim Clijsters advanced to the U.S. Open quarter-finals by defeating Serbia’s Ana Ivanovic 6-2, 6-1 in 59 minutes on Sunday. The Belgian 2nd seed player will play for a semifinals match against the winner of a night match between Australian 5th seed Samantha Stosur and Russian 12th seed Elena Dementrieva.

On the other hand, Austrian Juergen Melzer defeated Juan Carlos Ferrero 7-5, 6-3 and 6-1. Albert Montanes’ opponent Ken Nishikori had to quit in the second set with a groin injury. Frenchman Gael Monfils prevailed over Janko Tipsarevic in a close 4-setter 7-6 (4), 6-7 (4), 6-2, 6-4.

One of the top favourites, Caroline Wozniacki continues to play well as she leads her path to the finals of the US Open 2010 Womens Division. She eliminates Chan Yung-jan in two sets with 6-1 and 6-0. Wozniacki is very confident to tell the press that she can handle the game towards reaching the final rounds.

Maria Sharapova won the match with 6-0 and 6-0 against the young hopeful American talent, Beatrice Capra, thus making her to advance in the fourth round of US Open Tennis.

Other matches for Womens event includes: Vera Zvonareva advanced to the fourth round by beating Alexandra Dulgheru 6-2 and 7-6. Moreso, Kaia Kanepi caused a major upset by ousting Jelena Jankovic, winning in two sets 6-2 and 7-6. Svetlana Kuznetsova won in two sets over fellow Russian Maria Kirilenko 6-3 and 6-4. Dominika Cibulkova swept past Lourdes Dominguez with 6-0 and 6-1. And Yanina Wickmayer was the lucky winner over Patty Schnyder of Switzerland, prevailing in three sets 7-6 (5), 3-6, 7-6 (6).
