Makers of internet modems Huawei will finally be joining the tablet community as they present their flagship device called MediaPad. The ICT provider wants to change gear and made mention that from a company that sells millions of devices to a single company they will become a known brand that sells a single device to a single consumer.
MediaPad is 0.4 inches thick and weighs only 390 grams runs in a Qualcomm dual-core 1.2GHz processor and supported by Google Android Market. It also supports 1080P full HD video playback and has a 1.3-megapixel front-facing camera and a 5-megapixel rear-facing camera with autofocus and HD video recording capabilities.
The device is currently available in the local market of the Philippines. “Having all these tablets around makes it more confusing which one to choose,” says B. Garcia, a Filipino businessman who’s into boats for sale in Philippines and has been looking for the best tablet he can use in his business. He finds the laptop very heavy in his frequent travels and wants to carry the thin tablets instead.
“With the Huawei MediaPad, we are demonstrating yet again that design, functionality and performance are within anyone’s reach. The 7-inch tablet remains the preferred size for portability, and Android Honeycomb 3.2 is dedicated to enhance the full potential of 7-inch tablets. Huawei is very pleased to be the first to offer this package to consumers globally and most especially here in the Philippines.” Huawei Philippines Device Group Head Zack Zhangxiang said in a statement.
